Luxury fashion retailer Barneys New York continues its Sole Series this summer, which essentially takes classic styles of footwear to the next level with nuanced design details made exclusively for Barneys. This drop highlights Vans and utilizes its Old Skool (rendered in three colorways) and the Sk8-Hi silhouettes (in two colorways) — with both comprised of premium leather and nubuck construction. Additionally, each pair is solidified by its classic vulcanized rubber sole unit in white.I think that it's really cool that a store like Barneys will be featuring a brand like Vans in their store. I feel like it says a lot about Barneys as a store and how they don't only sell high end brands because they're expensive, but because they're fashionable and trendy. It makes the rather upscale department store appear to be more humble and more about the fashion than about the money. Vans, primarily the "Old Skool" style, are extremely trendy right now and many celebrities have been spotted wearing them. The classic "Old Skools" retail for as low as $60 and the Barneys collaboration ones will be retailing for $140, which is more than double the price of the normal Vans. Either way, $140 is a lot cheaper than Barneys' usual price range for designer sneakers, such as Gucci, which retail over $600. Let me know what you guys think about a store like Barneys featuring Vans in their summer sneaker collection and if you're thinking of picking up a pair!

Luxurious Streetwear
If there's one thing I can say about my own personal style, it's that I love to be comfortable. Streetwear is trendy and fashionable, but also super comfy, which is why I love it. I've always been into high end designers as well, such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, YSL, and other brands a college student like myself can't really afford. Brands such as these are often sold at stores like Barneys and Bergdorfs where I normally wouldn't think about entering unless I was dressed to the nines and had an unlimited credit card limit. The biggest streetwear blog on the internet, High Snobiety, announced that Barneys will now be adding the classic "Old Skool" Vans to its Sole Series this summer. Check the article out here.
