Big Ben Again and Again

In my previous post, Welcome to Winter FUNderland, I mentioned how my trip to London felt incredibly dragged out. Like I said, I recommend traveling to multiple places throughout Europe and not to stay in one place for over a week despite the many attractions. I thought it might be fun to share a little about the other places I visited whilst in the city of London for 10 days. First off, my vacation buddies and I thought it was so funny that we visited Big Ben every single day we were there and yet we still were unable to get a decent picture with it. I attached the best picture we had below, and even this one doesn't capture the tip of Big Ben and to make it worse, there are big red buses in the background!

You'd think in 10 days, someone would be able to get a good picture of all 4 of us, but I guess we just didn't ask the right people! Picture or not, Big Ben is a must-see when you're in London. Right near Big Ben, is the London Eye which I actually never got to experience. The line for the London Eye was approximately 3 hours long everyday and it was freezing cold. I give major props to the people who actually waited on that line because I had to stop for hot chocolate every 30 minutes due to the cold weather! If you ever go to London (during a warmer season), the London Eye is definitely something you must do because you can see the entire city. Another important attraction is the home of the Queen, Buckingham Palace! The Palace is insanely beautiful and a definite tourist attraction. Check out my picture below!

Also if you were wondering, yes, we were freezing, we just took our long coats off for the picture! I'd say of everything in London, these are the top 3 things tourists must experience in London in addition to Abbey Road — home of the Beatles, Piccadilly Circus — if you're in the mood for some luxury shopping and beautiful city lights, the infamous London Bridge — not just because of the Fergie song, along with too many palaces and cathedrals to name. I also wanted to mention a really cool building where you have to grab dinner (but make reservations somewhere in advance). The Shard is a tall pointy building in London with great views and amazing architecture. It's definitely a highly recommended spot in the city. Lastly, if you find yourself jet-lagged and hungry at a weird hour of the night, head over to Duck & Waffle on the 40th floor in Heron Tower. It's a 24/7 chicken and waffle spot, so you definitely can't go wrong. Hopefully this post helps anyone planning to travel or study abroad here! And if you do end up going to London... Get a good picture with Big Ben for me!
